Lucy A. Gladfelter, 68, was called home by her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, July 10, 2026. Born in Roanoke, VA on July 19, 1957, Lucy was the daughter of the late John H. and M. Faye Danner.

Lucy spent her summers growing up in Virginia with her sisters, cousins, and grandmother. She always spoke of how much she cherished those summers. After attending York City elementary schools, she graduated from Northeastern High School and continued her education at Penn State University. Lucy worked at several local restaurants where she made lifelong friendships before following in her father's footsteps, working side by side with him at the John H. Danner Funeral Home. After John's passing, Lucy carried on his legacy and love for the community at Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc. Lucy had a kindness and love of the Lord that few can match. She would do anything for anybody. Often spending hours and hours at work to make sure the families she was serving were taken care of. She was loved by so many.

Lucy loved her family. She was the glue that kept everyone together. Before her illness, she hosted Sunday dinners, every holiday and birthday party. Lucy had a passion for antiques and had quite the collection! She adored her grandchildren and later in life, loved seeing her great nieces.

Lucy leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Misty Zimmer and husband, Keith; and Shane Gladfelter and wife, Lisa; and her granddaughters, Haley Saylor and husband, Sean, Maggie Gladfelter, Ella Gladfelter, Sophia Gladfelter and Nora Gladfelter; sister, Karen Seifert; nephew, Jonathan Seifert and wife, Kaitlyn; great nieces, Kira, Ava and Emma; and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susan Syms; and two brother in laws, Richard Syms and Cory Seifert.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Manchester Assembly of God, 4115 Board Rd, Manchester, Pa 17345. The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial at Manchester Lutheran will be private.
