Rodger Dale Murphy, 82, entered into rest on August 21, 2023, at UPMC Memorial. He was the loving husband of Nancy (Howard) Murphy, whom he shared 62 years with.
Born on June 14, 1941, in York, he was the son of the late John and Gladys Murphy.
Rodger worked as a truck driver for over 45 years and retired from Red Star Express. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Rodger embraced work but loved to spend time camping with family and friends. In his latter years, he loved attending car shows and displaying his classic car. He was a member of the Motor Menders Rod and Custom Car Club.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, Rodger leaves to cherish his memory, his three children, Rodger Murphy II (Gwendolyn) of Dover, Michelle Kinard (Curt) of Gardners and Stacey Stough of Dover; brothers, Stephen Murphy of UT and L. Donald Murphy of WA; and his seven grandchildren whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Denise Murphy and Lorma Hart; and his brother and best friend, Johnny Murphy.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers consider contributing to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation- C/O Team Shad, 4309 Lingelstown Rd, Suite 108, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
