Holding a Flower

On November 3, 2025 Valarie passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus. She was surrounded by family and friends that loved her.

Valarie was one of a kind! She was the epitome warrior princess. Born with a very rare syndrome called Aicardi syndrome, Valarie fought battles every day of her life. Yet she still smiled her contagious smile. A smile that could warm the coldest of hearts. From her porcelain doll face and crazy curly hair to her tiny little hands and feet, every inch of her little body just made you want to squeeze her. She only knew unconditional love. And without ever uttering a word, she taught that to everyone she ever met. To know her was to love her.

Valarie had many special caregivers in her lifetime. Thank you to each and every one of you. Valarie's world was better because all of you were in it! With special mention going to Nurse Katie(8 yrs) and Nurse Gwen(6 yrs)....I could not have done this without you!

Valarie is survived by her mother Christine Dunne, Grandparents Kay and Alex Monteith, Grandmother Carol McDaniel, Aunt Amy and Sean Picking, Uncle Mark McDaniel and Yvonne White. Her cousins Kayla and Eric Luther, Tim Godwin, Maranda Godwin and second cousin Brody Luther. She was preceded in death by her Grandfather David (Butch) McDaniel, Grandmother Delores Bryan and cousin Tony Godwin.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Glatfelter Funeral Homes Inc. 822 East Market St. York,PA 17403. There will be a celebration of life in the future, but no timeline has been determined.
