Washington Swan, 66, departed to be with the Lord on June 29, 2024. Born in October 18, 1957, in York PA, he was the son of Etta Mae Chalmers and Lenon Swan. Washinton was an avid college sports fan and loved to fishing. He had the gift of gab and could make friends everywhere he went. Washington always “made his rounds” as he called it and never let being in a wheelchair stop him from doing anything in life.
Washinton is survived by a daughter Ashley Williams, and a grandson D’essence Williams. He is also survived by three brothers, Dale Swan, Dennis Swan, and Edward Swan. His memory will also be cherished by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Etta Mae Chalmers and Lenon Swan; a brother, Samuel Swan; sisters, Barbara A. Dozier and Ella Henderson; brother in law, Bobbie L. Dozier.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A viewing will be held at Gladfelter Funeral Home Inc, 822 East Market Street, York PA, 17403 on Friday July 12, 2024 at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the service will start at 11a.m. Pastor Robert Jamison will be officiating the service.
